Where is Somerset Hills Memorial Park?
Our address is 95 Mount Airy Rd, Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920.  Directions are available by selecting “DIRECTIONS” from our “HOME” page.

What are the hours of Somerset Hills Memorial Park?
The cemetery grounds are open for visitation from 8:00 am to dusk.  The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.  The Garden of Memories Mausoleum is open for visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays and Holidays.

Can you help me find the location of my loved one’s burial?
We would be pleased to help you at our office in person or by telephone between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

I would like to buy a grave marker for a loved one at Somerset Hills Memorial Park.  May I buy it from the cemetery?
No, markers must be purchased from a monument dealer. If your loved one was a veteran, he oe she may be eligible for a free marker; contact the Veterans Administration at www.va.org

I’m interested in purchasing cemetery property.  Who do I contact?
You may either E-mail us by selecting “CONTACT US” or call for an appointment at 908-766-0522 or 800-879-8345 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

When I purchase a grave, crypt or niche from Somerset Hills Memorial Park, will I receive a deed? 
Yes.  All of our grave, crypt and niche purchasers receive a deed.

Can I plant anything on my graves?
No. Somerset Hills Memorial Park allows only fresh cut flowers during grass cutting season.  On Holidays, baskets of cut flowers or potted plants are allowed, but are to be removed in one week.  Natural and artificial wreaths and grave blankets are allowed after Thanksgiving and will remain no later than February.

What type of marker can I have placed on my grave?
All grave markers must be bronze and are placed flush with the ground.  These may be purchased from a monument dealer or arranged through the Veterans Administration for qualifying veterans.

What planting services for graves does Somerset Hills Memorial Park provide?
The cemetery does not allow plantings on individual graves. The cemetery offers winter grave blankets for purchase.  These are natural Spruce blankets placed after Thanksgiving and removed by our staff in February.  If you are interested, please contact our staff by selecting “CONTACT US” and we will be glad to help you.

Do you have facilities for the burial of cremated remains?
Yes, Somerset Hills Memorial Park has a wide variety of niches and urn gardens to select from.  If you would like further information, please select “CONTACT US” and ask for an informational package, or ask for one of our counselors to contact you.

Does Somerset Hills Memorial Park have a crematory?
Yes, our crematory has been providing local funeral directors and our respective families with professional cremation service since 1975.  All of our operators and supervisors are trained and certified by the Cremation Association of North America.

Can anyone be buried at Somerset Hills Memorial Park?
Yes, our cemetery is a non-sectarian cemetery, serving all faiths.

My spouse is a veteran.  May I place a flag at the grave?
Yes, flags are permitted on Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th and Veterans Day. Flag holders are not allowed.

I would like to bring flowers to the Garden of Memories Mausoleum.  What is allowed?
Fresh cut flowers only, vases are available in the flower rooms for your convenience.  No artificial flowers please.  Potted plants are allowed only at Holidays, plant stands are available at the office.

Does Somerset Hills Memorial Park provide any flower services for the Garden of Memories Mausoleum?
Yes, we offer  live potted Lilies for Spring and Poinsettias in December for purchase.  Sign up for our mailing list to receive information about the floral programs by selecting “CONTACT US”.

Are there advantages to pre-planning cemetery property?
Yes.   Pre-planning allows you the opportunity to choose the location you prefer which may not be available at the time of death.  It also may allow you to arrange spaces near loved ones or friends.
Pre-planning stops the inflationary cycle.
Pre-planning allows you to take advantage of discounts and promotions which are not available at the time of need.
Pre-planning is a gift of love to your spouse and children by saving them from having to make these decisions at the difficult and stressful time surrounding your passing.
